You’ll need them for the plane tray table and the hotel remote
TRYING to stay clean and healthy on a holiday can be impossible when travelling on busy planes and staying at huge hotels.
But one frequent traveller has revealed the “indispensable” item that he always takes, but barely costs anything.
Dr Hamdan Abdullah Hamed, co-founder, of Power Your Curls, explained that he always packs a “moist towelette” also known as wet wipes in the UK.
He told Grit Daily: “One travel hack I use to make my personal trips more efficient and enjoyable is to bring pre-moistened towelettes.
“They are just so handy […] you can use them to clean your hands after you’re done eating, or you can use them to wipe down your seat before you sit on it.
“It’s also great for cleaning off the grimy handle of your suitcase before you pick it up.

“If you’re not used to using them, try starting with just a few – you’ll find that once you get used to having them around, they’ll become indispensable!”
We’ve found some on Amazon which cost £9.99 for 100 sachets – working out to a penny per pack.
And with each one individually wrapped, you can just take a few on holiday, with them fitting in your pocket.
Otherwise you can also buy a large pack of wet wipes for just a few pounds from supermarket or high street pharmacies.
Of course, these will take up more room in your luggage.
Despite them being “wet” wipes, they won’t count towards your liquid allowance.
One of the dirtiest places on the plane is the tray table, with flight attendants advising passengers to always wipe it down.
An anonymous cabin crew member explained: “Definitely bring antibac wipes or sanitiser.
“A lot of airlines will have the crew ‘turnaround’ the plane, meaning they pick up your rubbish, fold your seatbelt over, file your magazines in the seat pocket and then welcome new passengers.
“I have lost count of the amount of times I have had to tell people how disgusting it is to change their baby on the tray table or in a seat.”
The Sun’s resident flight attendant backed this up, saying: “You need to be bringing anti-bacterial gel, hand sanitiser or some alcohol wipes with you every time you fly.
“I know that shouldn’t be your job, but we don’t have time between flights, nor do the cleaning crews who do an amazing job as it is.”
You might want to wipe down the safety card too, as well as the toilet handle, and the hotel remote.
Doctors still advise washing your hands with hot water and soap, as the wipes won’t fully kill all of the bacteria.
